The commitment of the Ballingers
has made 58th Street a home.

Presby is respected as one of the region’s premier providers of residential and supportive care communities for older adults, thanks to friends and benefactors like Michael and Peggy Ballinger. In recent years, the Ballingers have shared their commitment and financial resources in support of the ministry.

For three years, Michael served on the Board of Directors of Presby’s Inspired Life with Peggy’s full encouragement and support. Michael’s involvement on the Board followed a visit in 2004 to The 58th Street Presbyterian Home, where he witnessed firsthand the unparalleled service delivered to some of the neediest seniors from that region of Southwest Philadelphia. He recalls being so touched by the smiles, the professionalism and the sheer compassion throughout the corridors. Michael left that campus convinced that the 58th Street home was truly a “wonderful and Godly place to work and reside.”

Michael and Peggy’s dedication and consistent generosity since his uplifting experience has ignited their profound benevolence and ultimately augmented Presby’s ability to direct much-needed resources to the delivery of quality services at The 58th Street Presbyterian Home. Nearly every resident there relies on Medical Assistance to help meet the cost of their care. Michael and Peggy find great comfort in being able to lend a philanthropic hand.

“Our commitment to offering charitable support reflects the concern we feel for those who call 58th Street home,” says Michael. “Each visit to the campus has touched me deeply. Peggy and I have felt blessed to be in a position to help.”

While Michael is taking time off from his service as a member of the Board of Directors, he affirms that Presby will remain close to his and Peggy’s hearts. “We have such good friends throughout Presby,” he says. “The Presby team excels at caring for older adults…theirs is truly a labor of love, and we are happy to be a part of it.”
