The generosity of the Youngs has
changed the lives of many at Presby.
The contributions of individuals like Bill and Bette Young are almost breathtaking
in their scope and impact; their commitment and spirit, legendary.
“Witnessing the positive impact our services have on residents’ lives
is what is so rewarding,” said Bill, who is Chair of the Presby’s Inspired
Life Board of Directors. “I believe it is a responsibility to give of yourself
and your resources to help further our mission.”
Bill has served as Chair of the Presby’s Board of Directors since 2000 and
as a member of the Board since 1994. Having been introduced to the organization
by a colleague and fellow member of The First Presbyterian Church in Germantown,
Bill and Bette quickly became involved and their dedication has never waned.
Bette has demonstrated her commitment by devoting her time as member – and
moderator - of the former Auxiliary Board, hosting numerous events to raise funds
to support residents.
However, their commitment and devotion transcend well beyond the Board Room and
special event venues. Both Bill and Bette have given magnanimously of their leadership,
creative energy and financial resources. Across our ministry, their philanthropic
support has touched lives and enabled many improvement and expansion initiatives.
In addition to their leadership and generous support, both Bill and Bette also give
of their friendship. “I enjoy simply talking with our residents,” added
Bill.
The Youngs’ more than two decades of philanthropy has touched lives particularly
at our Broomall and Rydal Park communities, and has been at the heart
of capital enhancements, food subsidy programs, resident financial assistance, memorial
funds, tribute gifts and countless other special initiatives.
Bill and Bette are proud to be so involved in the livelihood of Presby’s Inspired
Life and undoubtedly, many residents are enormously grateful to have them as a part
of our family. “Our love for Presby is demonstrated by our commitment to support
a wide array of needs throughout the communities,” says Bill.
