2017 End-of-Year message from President and CEO Judee Bavaria

December 21, 2017

The year 2017 has been a groundbreaking year for Presby’s Inspired Life – literally and figuratively.

This year, we ushered in a new tagline that best personifies who and what we are as an organization.

“Exceptional. Without Exception.”

For 62 years, we’ve strived to do one thing: be better.

It may sound simple on the surface, but the reality of striving to “be better” takes equal parts compassion, commitment and purpose. And it takes everyone – volunteer leaders, benefactors and you our team members.

What sets us apart is the way we come together in small ways and big ways to deliver on our promise to create exceptional living experiences for people 62 and better.

As our brand becomes more widely recognized, the area has taken notice of our efforts to make greater Philadelphia a better place to live. Our impact has been amplified by residents like Walter from Old City, who picked his life up from the depths of homelessness … Bill from Rydal Park, who used his love of carpentry to open a handyman shop at Rydal … Kay and Marie from Jackson Place, two South Philly natives who became neighbors and close friends at Jackson Place… and Bill from Spring Mill, who shared with the world his secret paint-by-numbers masterpiece collection.

This year, you helped us achieve and celebrate many special milestones. In October, we recognized 90 team members whose collective years of service totaled more than 1,000 years! In September, we broke ground on our two newest affordable housing communities, Cantrell Place in South Philadelphia and Witherspoon Apartments on our 58th Street Campus in Southwest Philadelphia. And before, after and everywhere in between, we’ve kept our hands working and our eyes focused toward the future.

And in 2018 and beyond, our mission won’t waver. We will continue to do all we can to be better.

Thank you, as always, for all you do and the gifts and talents you bring to this ministry to make us… Exceptional. Without Exception.
