Appreciating the Arts
May 11, 2015
Rydal Park prides itself on being a place where the arts are alive and well. From our art and craft studios to our wood shop, we are a community very much in touch with our creative side. One of the ways we showcase the talents of our residents is through our Boardwalk Art Gallery, exhibiting the work of Lynda Boardman, a fabric artist, throughout May and June.
Lynda Boardman’s first artistic outlet was sewing, but over the years she began exploring different media from oils to fabric to graphic design and everything in between. In 2009, however, she stumbled upon collage art quilts and it was love at first stitch. Now, she spends her time designing detailed drawings that she uses to pattern her quilts, layer by layer. Each quilt she creates is a unique, one-of-a-kind painting-sized wall hanging.
We are delighted to offer her work to be seen in our Boardwalk Art Gallery and for purchase through resident Perky Cohen.
