AWARD RECIPIENT UKEE WASHINGTON HIGHLIGHTS PRESBY’S ANNUAL INSPIRED SERVICE RECOGNITION DINNER

October 27, 2017

The longtime CBS 3 anchor was recognized for his service to adults 62 and better during Presby’s annual event, held Thursday evening in Philadelphia.

Presby’s Inspired Life was proud to honor CBS 3 lead anchor and longtime Philadelphia news staple Ukee Washington on Thursday evening as the 2017 Inspired Service Award recipient during the annual Inspired Service Award Recognition dinner.

A trusted voice in the homes of Philadelphia-area natives for over three decades, Washington was honored for his continued dedication for serving people 62 and better in our area and for helping to bring the issues facing older adults to the forefront of public conversation.

“I love to do what I do both on air and in the community,” Washington said as he accepted his honor. “I am privileged to be a part of such a distinguished group. Without question, life-changing acts of service and kindness unfold across our region each and every day. I feel blessed and grateful not only for the chance to discover these stories, but to also share them with you. It is a privilege, an absolute privilege, to be called to serve in this role.

“Because of the mission that happens across over 35 Presby communities each day, I am struck, inspired and influenced by this distinction of being exceptional without exception.

“To my Presby family, all you do is oh so right. I thank you for all you stand for and I thank you for letting me be a part of your legacy.”

CBS 3’s cameras were on hand for the evening’s events. You can watch the clip that aired on Thursday’s 11 p.m. newscast below.
