Nativity BVM holds party to celebrate 1st anniversary

February 10, 2017

Local media was on hand as the Presby’s Inspired Life-managed community celebrated the milestone with residents, team members and neighbors.

On Friday afternoon, Nativity BVM, a Presby’s Inspired Life-managed Affordable Housing community located in the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia, celebrated its first anniversary of operation with a party and luncheon for residents, team members, neighbors and local media.

Residents gathered in the community’s dining room for a hot lunch, dessert treats and festive music to celebrate. 6ABC was on hand to film for its nightly newscasts and reporters from local papers came to take notes for stories.

After lunch was served, Presby’s Inspired Life Executive Director of Affordable Housing Bill Canteen spoke to the Nativity residents.

“So many you lived here and grew up here. This is your neighborhood,” Bill said. “You’re able to continue to live here, and we’re proud of that.”

The event was capped off with trivia and fun games for residents, with the winners receiving door prizes.

An adaptive reuse of the building that once was the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s grade school of the same name, Nativity BVM is a Presby’s Inspired Life-features 63 units of PRAC Affordable Housing.
