Residents at Broomall fight cold weather with winter-themed tea party

Over 40 residents gathered for a party that included assorted teas and treats and even fun games with prizes.

Not ones to let the cold weather and grey winter days get them down, residents at Presby’s Inspired Life’s Broomall community held a winter tea party on Thursday afternoon.

Over 40 residents gathered for a party that included tea and treats in a community room that was decorated in a winter theme with blue and silver tablecloths, snowflake decorations and winter mason jars.

Residents even participated in games including tea trivia and “Guess the Tea,” where they had to use sense of smell to figure out which type of tea was under their noses. Small prizes were given to the winners.

“I wanted something to do that was winter-themed to appreciate the season,” said Tricia Katz, Broomall’s Activities Manager. “This was something to do that made an ordinary Thursday into something to look forward to or brighten [the residents’] day.”

Judging by the smiles on the residents’ faces throughout the party, Tricia’s mission was accomplished.

Resident Marie Helmig noted how she felt she was on the set of the hit TV show “Downton Abbey” with the silver tea sets and assortments of teas, sandwiches, pastries and the other assorted treats.

Thursday afternoon’s tea party is just an example of the fun events for residents that are held all across Presby’s Inspired Life’s communities!
