RYDAL, PENNSYLVANIA (APRIL 17, 2015): Russell L. Mast of Philadelphia has been appointed Executive Director of Rydal Park, an Abington Township residential retirement community of Presby’s Inspired Life, a leading Delaware Valley not-for-profit developer of continuing care and Affordable Housing for older adults.

In announcing Mast’s appointment, Presby’s Inspired Life Chief Executive Officer Judee Bavaria said, “Russell is an exciting new Executive Director for Rydal Park, as he exhibits exemplary leadership, operational and business skills, and a unique perspective and vision that will continue to advance Rydal Park’s position as a premier continuing care retirement community.”

Describing his experience with Rydal Park thus far, Mast said, “I’ve found Rydal Park to be an engaging community, where ‘spirited living’ isn’t just a tagline, but rather, it’s a way of life. Before joining Rydal Park, Mast was Health Services Administrator for Frederick Living, a not-for-profit retirement living community in Frederick, PA, where he established and maintained a five-star rating for the community, among other accomplishments. From 2009 to 2011, Mast was Executive Director for Dock Woods in Lansdale, PA, one of the three southeastern PA campuses of the Living Branches not-for-profit system of retirement living and Affordable Housing communities, where he led all operations and programs. He previously served Dock Woods as Acting Vice President of Operations and Vice President, Marketing and Public Relations.

Mast began his career in corporate communications for Suburban Cable (now Comcast) in 1999, transitioning to Ikon Office Solutions (now a Ricoh company) in 2001, where he earned the company’s first Marketing Employee of the Year award and remained until 2006.

Mast holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Arts and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Eastern University in St. Davids, PA. He also holds a Nursing Home Administrator license from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in addition to certification as an Aging Services Professional from University of North Texas in Dallas and LeadingAge in Washington, D.C. He serves as board member and secretary for Pennsylvania Culture Change Coalition, which advocates for transformation across all long term care settings from an institutional model of care to a person-directed and community-focused model of living.

Located along The Fairway in Abington Township, Rydal Park is the largest senior living community within the Presby’s Inspired Life organization and has been a staple in the Abington Township community for 40 years. It is a full continuing care retirement community, offering independent living, personal care and skilled nursing, rehabilitative and memory support care for up to 500 residents aged 62 and older.
