JENKINTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA (NOVEMBER 25, 2014): When Abington Township Commissioner Ben Sanchez needed a place to store more than two dozen donated turkeys before they could be distributed to local families, he turned to good neighbor Rydal Park continuing care retirement community and its Director of Cultural Enrichment Daniel Kaye, who immediately offered to help store them in Rydal Park’s large freezers.
After their weekend stay at Rydal Park, the birds were transported to Abington’s Interfaith Food Cupboard at Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, which will distribute them to local families in need, along with coupons for free turkeys donated by local residents.
Rydal Park is located at 1515 The Fairway in Jenkintown, PA 19046 (next to Whole Foods).
