3/2/2009
(Lafayette Hill, PA) – R. James Polaski, N.H.A., Schnecksville, PA, has been appointed vice president of affordable housing and community services at Presby’s Inspired Life, a Lafayette Hill-based not-for-profit provider of continuing care and housing for seniors.
The multi-site organization provides independent and assisted living, skilled nursing care and affordable housing to more than 2,600 residents at 27 locations throughout the Greater Delaware Valley.
In announcing his appointment, Presby’s Inspired Life Chief Operating Officer Garry D. Hennis said Polaski will be responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and management of Presby’s Affordable Housing Program, which currently maintains 22 sponsored and managed housing sites throughout the Philadelphia area, and several more in the development stage. In doing so, he will also maintain Presby’s ongoing partnerships with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA), as well as play an integral role on the nine-member senior executive team, Hennis said. Most recently, Polaski was executive director of Catholic Senior Housing and Healthcare Services, Inc., Bethlehem, PA, a full continuing care retirement community (CCRC), where he oversaw operations of a 208-bed skilled nursing facility, three assisted living communities and six independent living facilities.
Polaski holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Management from DeSales University, Center Valley, PA, and a Nursing Home Administrator licensure through the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Founded in 1982 with the opening of Riverside Presbyterian Apartments in Center City, Philadelphia, the Affordable Housing ministry of Presby’s Inspired Life serves seniors who are economically disadvantaged and in need of safe, affordable housing. With 22 Affordable Housing communities located throughout the Greater Philadelphia area – and several more in the development stage - the organization has evolved into a regional leader in developing, sponsoring and managing apartment communities for seniors of limited financial means.
